What We Carry Tote Bag

This tote bag design grew out of an interview series with 40+ women, whom I asked, "What are you carrying around with you right now?" It is a reflection on the everyday things we around with us, on our shoulders and our backs, in our hearts and minds. I hope this bag brings a smile, but also encourages us to think more about the loads we must carry and those we choose to, motivates us to continue shifting the balance towards those things that nourish us, and reminds us to have empathy because we don't know everything that anyone else is holding.

About the artist: 

Kwohtations is a one-woman handmade stationery company and letterpress print & design studio. Janine prints each card one at a time on an antique printing press and then paints them in by hand, so that each one is truly handmade and unique. 

Her mission is to expand the representation of people and stories around us, and for everyone to see a bit of themselves in Kwohtations cards. Also, she firmly believes that humor is key to savoring the good times and surviving the hard ones.
